When everything went right (except for the result)
I've had a good run with the sports events I've been part of this year - things have gone pretty well on and off the field and the Hurricanes run to the Super Rugby final was no different.
On the night of the final we were pretty busy pre-match and I got the chance to interview some pretty cool people for the big screen - including Nathan, who queued all night for finals tickets and Tana Umaga. There was a really nice spot before kick-off where we got to introduce and bring on to the field a whole heap of Hurricanes past players. The atmosphere was pretty amazing throughout the game and the only unfortunate thing was the result at the end of the game.
It was a bit of a weird feeling because those of us involved in all the match presentation were pretty pleased with the job we'd done and no-one really expected the result we got in the end. It was all a bit flat afterwards.
But that doesn't change the fact that this was an awesome season where I got to work with some great people, meet and interview even more great people and watch a heap of amazing rugby.
My fingers and toes are crossed to be involved in next season!
