Gangsters with a twist
These chaps are Paddy Locke and Frankie Spumante and they're at the Te Omanga Vintner's Lunch helping the Te Omanga Hospice raise some cash to keep up their amazing and much-needed work. We were really happy to be asked on board by Grant Sullivan of Grant Sullivan Entertainment to provide something to help with the Rat Pack theme for the lunch in 2015. They also wanted to try something different this year, having "behind the scenes" segments with the fabulous chefs who were preparing the different courses throughout the lunch.
I've got a long history working with Grant, he even did the sound for my Vance Fontaine shows and teamed up with the very clever Craig Bain, who I work with a lot at the Stadium we were able to get some nice little live pieces from the area where all the dishes were being plated up. This was done by a remote video link and boradcast on screens in the room.
In addition Pete Doile and I mingled with the guests in character as dodgy casino owner Frankie Spumante and his henchman Mr. Locke. The conceit was that everyone, including the chefs, MC Keith Quin and the entertainment were all there under duress because Frankie had called in some markers. A fantastic, fun gig to work on and over $60K raised on the day.
