I do not believe that a 46-year old man has ever looked so delighted to be in a cheap Stormtrooper onesie. But the delight wasn't fake news - I was at Orange Day again!
Always one of my favourite gigs of the year and a pleasure to share it once again with the talented Jen O'Sullivan (who also takes a mean onesie based selfie). There was all of the craziness, the loud cheering and screaming from hundreds of school patrollers but this year there was added onesies. Why?
Because it was Onesie Day so why not?
Jen and I wore them and so did the Mayor. It was an experience that could only be described as "peak Wellington" with a mayor in a onesie and a band of 11 year olds from Wadestown School performing a series of Fat Freddy's Drop covers complete with a horn section and two rap solos.
If you're going to celebrate the awesome work of our school patrols I can't think of a better way to do it.
